While the sun is slowly setting
on the capitol.
And soldiers march to countries
far away.
The band strikes up a song
written long ago, as the crowd
cheered for the boys that left that day.
Now we place are wreaths on
monuments to fallen friends
for the sacrifice that others had
them make. Do the eulogies
from patriots and stoic men
really make death that much
easier to take?

We're losing touch
running out of luck
We're losing
we're losing touch

There are murders every day
on our city streets. Some for
pleasure some for money
some for pride.
On the avenue crack and
life are very cheap
you can see the desperation
in their eyes.
We have poverty and
homelessness in our home towns
as the soldiers keep their medals
on a shelf. Experience is the
name we give our mistakes.
I guess they'll have to find
salvation for themselves

Some people want to live in
yesterday but you know it'll
never be that way again.

We're losing touch
running out of luck
We're losing
we're losing touch
